Great Billing Pocket Park
After the eastern expansion of Northampton was completed, a piece of land adjacent to the sports field was gifted to the Parish Council by Northampton Development Corporation.
This has been developed into Great Billing Pocket Park which is very popular with local residents, particularly dog walkers, as a place of leisure and activity. The ball wall installed for young people proved extremely popular, so much so that it became worn out and the Parish Council, with the aid of a grant from NBC Cllr. Christopher Malpas’s ‘Empowering Councillors’ scheme, replaced it with two new ones and also installed artificial turf.
Playing Fields
The Bernard Weston Pavilion
A playing field/sports ground has existed in Great Billing village for many years and this is used extensively by football and cricket clubs. This is served by the Bernard Weston Pavilion (named after a long-serving former Parish Council Chairman) and contains one large room, toilets, changing rooms, kitchen and a Parish Office. The large room is used daily by an established Pre-School and hosts various classes for parishioners to enjoy in the evenings including yoga, zumba, Great Billing Ladies Group and Little Billing Women's Institute.
