Your Council
Billing Parish Council is responsible for many matters in the Parish for the benefit of all residents. The Council receives a precept, (part of the Council Tax paid as a resident of the parish) and it is Billing Parish Council’s responsibility to spend this money wisely.
The council owns property, namely the Bernard Weston Pavilion in the sports field in Great Billing and areas of land including the sports field and Great Billing Pocket Park, the Leys, Bellinge Field and has responsibilities for areas such as Little Billing Pocket Park and contributed towards the village green in Little Billing.
Although the parish doesn’t own it they try to assist with the upkeep of other areas such as the Linear Park in Ecton Brook.
The council does also get involved with other aspects of daily life such as crime prevention and road safety, the council owns it’s own speed device which is regularly moved around the parish’s roads to remind drivers of the different speed limits in existence.
In general the aims of the council are to make the parish as pleasant a place as possible for people to live and work in.
To achieve this the full Council consists of fourteen Councillors.
- Five representing Ecton Brook Ward
- Three in Great Billing Ward
- Three in Little Billing Ward
- Three in Bellinge (Middle) Ward.
